Below is a copy of my aftercare sheet in case you forgot yours or need a brush-up.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Leave dermashield on for 2-4 days, or at minimum overnight, if comfortable (should it start to peel, take it off).

The build-up of liquid (blood, plasma, ink) is normal. While the patch is on, you can still shower and get it wet.

Remove the patch slowly under running water. I find it is easiest at the end of a shower.

After removing the patch, wash your tattoo with clean hands with any unscented soap. I recommend dove sensitive skin bar soap or dial gold soap.

Pat dry with a paper towel or clean towel and rub a thin layer of Lubriderm (the regular or advanced care) over your tattoo. Aquaphor can be used over the lotion if you notice your tattoo is extremely dry.

★ Wash your tattoo at minimum 1-2 times a day while it is healing.

Apply Lubriderm 2-3 times a day or as needed for the first week or when your tattoo feels dry.

THINGS NOT TO DO WITH A NEW TATTOO

Do not swim in the ocean, lakes, ponds, or any body of water at least the first two weeks. (if you do, wash it as soon as you can after exposure and moisturize though I do not recommend).

Do not soak in a hot tub, bathtub, or go in a sauna; sweating a lot is bad for your tattoo.

Do not scratch or pick at scabbing or flaking parts of the tattoo (if your tattoo itches, slap it gently). Your tattoo will naturally exfoliate when you wash it.

Do not go tanning or expose your tattoo to direct sunlight. Make sure to use sunscreen.

Do not use scented lotions, soaps, or body washes, and avoid using a loofah or towel on it for at least the first 2 weeks.
